Explorations

Day trip with the besties

I took a day trip with some friends to draw in a café and buy some art supplies. A few stops to get the creative juices flowing. I’ve been looking for more ways to make artwork with different mediums. I recently bought some new markers and gel pens to spice up my pen drawings. The saturated color of these markers gives me the good feels.

Low Pressure

My goal is to make these look simple and well designed so that they are still pleasing to look at with out having to overthink the process. They are satisfying to create. It’s very experimental for me, considering I’m not doing them in pencil I have to work around any mistakes or accidents I make using a pen.

Acai Bowl in a

coffee shop

I cut disposable palette paper to fit into an Altoids tin in order to mix my paint when I’m out in the world. It makes painting a little more accessible for me. This was my first time using it and I’m proud of what I accomplished.

Vintage photos for $1

We shopped in a small thrift store and I picked up a few vintage photographs to use as reference. I feel there is some uniqueness by using images that are not sourced from the internet. Though, now that I’ve posted it does that make it less unique?

Books and Resources

I recently finished “Unmasking Autism” by Devon Price ( I absolutely recommend if you are ADHD or Autistic .I might do an entire post about the book in the future) and got the opportunity to purchase some new books. I got an Urban Foraging book for my father, it has recipes and descriptions for plants that you can cook with. I was interested in Things We Create because of it’s visual way to talk about the definition of “creation”. I’m going to use it as a reference in my upcoming class Art is a Verb.
